Preamble
- Entrepreneurship development and emerging skills upscale are major solutions to the challenges of youth bulge globally. The Centre was established to promote hands-on training and grounding in emerging skills, enterprise and entrepreneurship. The Centre will continuously engage with established globally acclaimed entrepreneurs, Policy makers, Multilateral Institutions and other key stakeholders in the development of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

- To promote enterprise knowledge among students, staff and youths nationally.
- To support the development of entrepreneurial spirit, execution of business ideas and mentorship.
- Promote youth empowerment through emerging skills development for self and global employment.
- To promote applied learning in entrepreneurship and enterprise management.
- To promote town and gown collaboration is skills set upscale and development.
- To promote global business and industrial captains.
- To proffer solutions to SMEs challenges through robust and practicable intellectual engagements.
TRAINING IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
All first year students in the University undergo training in Entrepreneurship Development studies
to introduce them to the fundamentals and benefits of entrepreneurship training and mind-set
conditioning for job creation rather than job seeking. STRATEGIC BUSINESS GROUPS
Students are to be divided into strategic business groups based on interest and talent management.
Students are being programmed to set up businesses of interest in year four when they would have
learnt the fundamentals of entrepreneurship with certification, while the Centre would provide
mentorship and provide booth camp in approved lines of business with investment support. The
Centre will also collaborate with various funding channels for SMEs to support the students’
businesses. Training is also being programmed for how to prepare a bankable and fundable business plans, financial modelling, business value chain analysis and risk management in
business. Software on Business cases will be acquired to train the students from year three. While
entrepreneurship advisory council is currently being put together in the University made up of
captain of industries and experienced industry players. ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SMALL BUSINESS CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME
To prepare the students for future entrepreneurship challenges, it is being made compulsory for
students in year three to be certificated in Certiport examination on Entrepreneurship and Small
business certification which will be organised during the long vacation. This global certification
will place the students in good stead in their journey as future entrepreneurs. MEMBERSHIP OF REPUTABLE BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS
The University also recognises the need for industry and university cooperation to provide avenue
for practical industry exposure and experience for students. Hence, the University is currently a
registered member of Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), Nigerian
Association of Small Scale Industries (NASSI) and is also pursuing registration with other
reputable private sector associations. Efforts are also being put in place to collaborate with relevant
industry stakeholders. The modalities of this is being worked out at present. INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE CERTIFICATION
To further deepen the entrepreneurship development of the students, certification in French and
training in mandarin languages are currently being developed by the centre. SKILL ACQUISITION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING
In furtherance to enhancing the entrepreneurial development of the students, the under-listed

DIGITAL SKILL UPSCALE PROGRAMMES
In order to prepare the students for future challenges both for entrepreneurship and job readiness,
the Centre has achieved accredited status as a Computer-Based-Test Centre for Certiport
International, a globally recognised digital Literacy and business certification body. Current
students are being trained on Global Internet and Core Certification (IC3) module. As students
progressed to year two, further training on Digital certification will also be carried out. These
certifications include: web design (adobe), coding (swift), cybersecurity and QuickBooks.
